Strictly Prohibited

It's a good thing it snowed because "Adventures of Erin & Adam" were getting a little boring. Yes, I am sure that you all wanted to know about going to the dog park and Adam's find about the "Weeeee Goal" but nothing has really compared to our European Adventures and this still doesn't but at least its more exciting than a day at the dog park! Today was our 2nd day off of school and tomorrow will be our 3rd. Can you believe it, three days of no school. As Adam says, it's our 7th day of weekend. Brindzi and Gryffin are loving it, having us home for so long. We are loving it for many reasons, mostly playing in the snow and sleeping in. They, the weather people, are predicting another possible 6-8 inches of snow tomorrow night. It could go either way, either rain, sleet, or snow. Who knows, maybe we will have the whole week off. Then it will only be 2 1/2 weeks until Winter Break and Christmas! Yahoo!

Today we ventured out on the roads. We picked up Julie and spent what felt like an hour getting the chains on the Nissan. REI was our next stop, money spent, as usual. Then up the hill to Lake Padden for a little X-Country Ski. The trees didn't let much snow pass through, so we had to stay out in the open. But the water was too enticing for Brindzi, cold freezing water and snow don't mix. I of course was more worried about it than Adam. She survived. So we decided to head to the golf course.

We then headed in the back way to the golf course, hoping for some nice open fields. We had lots of downed tree crossings to go over first. Here, Adam catches some air, and some pine pitch from the tree.

Once we got onto the golf course, it was perfect. Someone had already laid a track for us to follow. We meandered through the golf course, came across a crew of people sledding down a great hill, almost got lost, and then decided to take the road out. We climbed the fence and ate some (freeze) dried apples, frozen water, and then turned around and noticed this sign.

What! No X-country Skiing. You have got to be kidding me. If anyone, x-country skiers, would do the least amount of damage. Oh well, we came in the back door, there was no sign.

Brindzi decided to get lost for few minutes here, and we slightly freaked. She finally came bolting down the road. And of course, she couldn't even wait to get home, before she fell asleep in the car. Warm soup, good wine, a few rounds of cards, good company, and the news of no school tomorrow rounded out our day. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Stay tuned.
